Concussion Testing

A concussion is a type of traumatic brain injury (TBI) resulting from a bump, blow, or jolt to the head or body. This sudden impact can cause the brain to move rapidly within the skull, leading to temporary changes in brain function. Concussions are commonly associated with sports-related activities, accidents, or falls and require timely and specialized care to ensure optimal recovery.

Signs and Symptoms of Concussion

– Physical Symptoms: Headache, dizziness, blurred vision, sensitivity to light or noise, and balance issues.

– Cognitive Symptoms: Difficulty concentrating, memory problems, feeling “foggy” or slowed down.

– Emotional Symptoms: Irritability, mood swings, anxiety, or feelings of sadness.

– Sleep Disturbances: Trouble falling asleep, sleeping more than usual, or changes in sleep patterns.

It’s essential to seek medical attention if any of these symptoms are present following a head injury, as timely intervention is key to managing and mitigating potential complications.
