Running Analysis

A detailed video analysis and in-depth strength, range of motion and flexibility assessment is performed to help a runner with his/her training. IT assists in connecting patterns of dysfunction, developing symmetry, and developing control, strength and flexibility.

Things gained from analysis are:

  1. Less injuries in the future – it is true; an ounce of prevention is worth a pound of gain
  2. Longer stride – an ideal stride requires steady powerful pelvis/hips and functional flexibility and symmetry
  3. Increased speed – symmetry ad strength allows more efficient and economical movement leading to the cardiovascular system being able to supply the energy to move faster.
  4. Right shoes – taking into account runner’s weight, height, mileage, past injury history, specific foot type and review of assessment and video findings can allow the physiotherapist to make recommendations on runner type and whether orthotics are appropriate.
